The estimated start date for  the Unit 2 Outage at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant is Oct 5, 2009 and is currently scheduled to run 29 days.

 Day and Zimmerman NPS expects to hire around 70 80.  First hire is scheduled for mid July then every week in August    Updated schedule calls for hiring to start second week in August and into September.

Base Schedule is 4-10s, Monday - Thursday until the outage  starts then  6-10s  with two shifts.

Work at a Nuclear Power plant requires drug testing, 3 year work history, credit and criminal back ground check.  Extensive computer based testing takes place on site, after hire in.  For more information and test study material go to  http://www.pge.com/microsite/diablo/  PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS SITE IS FROM THE LAST OUTAGE AND SOME INFORMATION NO LONGER APPLIES.  THE SGT IS NO LONGER ON SITE AND WILL NOT BE HIRING.

CA certification is not required at Diablo Canyon
